Terminal is located on berths Nos. 5 and 6 with length of 336 m and depths at berths of up to 13,0 m. It is facilities enable handling up to 450,000 containers (TEU) a year. Especially large-capacity container vessels are periodically processed on the berth No. 1. The containers are loaded and discharged on /from the ship by Ship-to-Shore Container Cranes. Export of containers from the port to consignees and their delivery into the port is carried out by trucks and railway platforms.
Storage areas of the Terminal enable to accommodate up to 12250 ÒEU. The technology of keeping cargo in refrigerated containers has been worked out and implemented in the port. The capacity of refrigerated containers storage area is 400 reefers.
On the basis of existing port computer control system of the Container Terminal essentially new, integrated system (IS) is being implemented. The system will be built in the general system of information interchange between participants of transport process and will allow to operate the Container Terminal in real time operation mode. The preliminary information received through IS will enable to increase considerably handling intensity of vessels, railway wagons and trucks and improve interaction with Customs and other Authorities at the border.
Port Stuffing Complex and "Unified office" allow to give clients all types of services on stuffing containers and fast execution of all necessary formalities for departure containers from the port.
Cargo Handling Equipment:
- 3 Ship-to-Shore (STS) ñontainer ñranes of 30,5-35,0 t capacity;
- 5 RMG cranes of 30,5-45,0 t capacity;
- 12 Straddle ñarriers of 35 t capacity;
- 3 Empty ñontainer handler of 18 – 37 t capacity;
- 1 Reachstacker of 41 t capacity;
- Terminal Tractors, trucks and other machinery.
Development of the Container Terminal is planned to carry out in several stages.
The first stage includes reconstruction of berths Nos. 3 and 4, construction of warehouse for stuffing containers, purchase of cargo handling equipment and reaching the capacity up to 850,000 TEU a year.
At the subsequent stages the reconstruction of the berth No. 2 and change of the specialization of the berth No.1 will allow to increase the port containers throughput up to 1,5 million TEU a year.
